You thought fans were done modding the 2019 hit that was the Resident Evil 2 remake? Think again. While the base game looks fantastic, there are a few irksome low-res textures here and there. Modder Ashok over at Nexus Mods has sought to remedy that with their HD Texture Pack for the PC version.
The mod replaces over 100 existing textures with high-res textures ranging from 1K to 4K in size. Some of the textures have been borrowed from Resident Evil 3 remake assets, while others have been remade from scratch.
The modder highly recommends the textures for VR, which if you’ve been paying attention, is now possible for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. It’s not an earth-shattering change, but it definitely helps with the immersion factor. You can check out some of the before and after shots below.
Meanwhile, we’re still waiting on Capcom to dish out something in regards to the Resident Evil Village DLC. Not to mention just what’s happening with Resident Evil Re:Verse, which is expected to be released sometime this year (hopefully).
And hey, if for whatever reason you still haven’t grabbed Resident Evil 2 yet, the Steam version is currently enjoying a 60% discount during the Lunar New Year Sale.
Thanks to DSOGaming for the heads up!
