While Pet Project Games and 3D Realms’ co-op horror shooter Ripout didn’t meet its initial February 1 release date on Steam, that’s not stopping the developer from announcing that the game will be coming to PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series. The announcement accompanies a brand-new trailer, which features new gameplay footage that’s different from the original trailer.
The new release date has been revised to “2022“, which hopefully won’t be later revised to “at the end of”.
Ripout sees players fighting their way through abandoned, mutant-infested spaceships, collecting loot and customize their characters, all in the search of the last remaining bastion of humanity. One of the Ripout‘s unique features is the customisable biotech weapon combat that features the Living Pet Weapon (LPW). Your weapon absorbs advanced tech from downed mutants including shield, plasma and teleportation biotech upgrades.
Players will also be able to choose between multiple character specializations to find that perfect mix, depending on your playstyle. Coupled with the procedurally-generated levels, scaling difficulty and bite-sized 10–20-minute missions, there’s a lot of replayability potential for this one.
