It may be a while before we see the future of law enforcement roll into theatres, but developer Teyon have good news for RoboCop fans with the announcement that RoboCop: Rogue City will be arriving this September! Not only that, but the developer has released a new gameplay trailer showing the game in action.
Announced during Nacon Connect 2023, Rogue City was originally announced last year for a June 2023 release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Meanwhile, the new trailer sees RoboCop (voiced by original RoboCop actor Peter Weller) patrolling the streets of crime-ridden Detroit, investigating suspected drug trafficking. The trailer demonstrates Robo having to follow the investigation “by the book” in requiring a warrant, the ability to scan for evidence, as well as making use of his Auto 9 and other weapons when things go south.
Featuring an all-new story that will be “faithful to the franchise’s DNA”, RoboCop: Rogue City will see players become the iconic part man, part machine, all cop hero as they attempt to bring justice to the crime-ridden streets of Old Detroit. Armed with your trusty Auto-9, factory-built strength, years of experience on the force and a variety of tools at your disposal, you will fight forces seeking to destroy the city you call home in an all new first-person, explosive hunt for the truth. You have the power to decide how to fulfill prime directives in your own way, but as the story unfolds proceed with caution because corruption and greed know no limits.
