Combine bloody FPS action with Roguelite elements from Vampire Survivors, and what do you get? Developer com8com1 Software and Headup have an answer with Bloodshed, their frenetic shooter that’s currently slated for release in Early Access on Steam later this year, but has a demo available right now during Steam Next Fest to whet your appetite for demon destruction.
The story for Bloodshed is minimalist, in true classic FPS fashion: Face the malevolent threat of the Cult, whose members are pursuing a sinister plan to resurrect an ancient deity to bring about the apocalypse. You must battle countless cultists, the undead, demons, and other creatures of the night and send them back into the ground. Players will pick from a diverse roster of playable characters, each with distinct abilities and playstyles, providing a unique gameplay experience. You’ll also have at your disposal a vast selection of weapons and skills, allowing you to experiment with various builds to discover the ideal strategy for your survival.
And survive you must, as you face endless waves of foes, collecting experience points and upgrading your skills and weapons. Even after death, you keep your hard-earned money which can be exchanged for persistent improvements and unlockable content, allowing you to progress further while adding depth to Bloodshed‘s overall gameplay. You can also complete optional objectives for unlocking new skills and game features, ensuring that each run will push you further.
