Despite the turmoil going on in Ukraine and the understandable delay for GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, the developers keep on plugging away. A new gameplay trailer for the upcoming shooter has been released, dubbed “Come to Me”.
The trailer is actually a mix of gameplay footage and cutscenes, and aims to “give a better understanding of the adventure beyond.” In addition, pre-orders for Heart of Chernobyl are now available on the game’s official site.
The fourth entry in the cult favourite series that began back in 2007, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl continues the series’ combination of first-person shooter, immersive sim, and horror. The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone has changed dramatically after the second massive explosion in 2006. Violent mutants, deadly anomalies, and warring factions have made the Zone a very tough place to survive. Nevertheless, artefacts of unbelievable value attracted many people called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, who have entered the Zone at their own risk striving to make a fortune out of it, or even to find the truth in the heart of Chernobyl.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is due out for Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in December 2023. The game will also be available via Xbox Game Pass.
