Switch fans will no longer be frustratingly left out when it comes to GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Legends of the Zone Trilogy. Released earlier this year to PlayStation and Xbox, the trilogy will be coming to the Nintendo Switch for the first time ever in any form this November.
Just in case you missed it, Legends of the Zone Trilogy includes all three games that make up the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series: Shadow of Chornobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Prypiat. The games can either be purchased individually or as a bundle.
Similar to what GSC Game World and their partner Mataboo had to do with bringing the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. titles to PlayStation and Xbox consoles, these versions of the classic games are optimized for Switch. This includes full TV/handheld/tabletop modes support, gyroscope integration, and touchscreen controls where applicable.
GSC Game World explained their process when bringing the three titles to consoles, saying that “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has been a PC franchise for a long time, so the key priorities were concentrated around adapting the experience for consoles as a whole (including, but not limited to, native controller support for console interfaces). We created everything from scratch, ensuring that the game was both easy to control and comfortable to play.”
Meanwhile, after a lengthy development process (and then some), the next entry in the series, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, will arrive on November 20 for the Xbox Series, the Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
