Here Before, a Belfast-set psychological thriller from Stacey Gregg, has its World Premiere at the SXSW Film Festival this past March. Now, Saban Films has come in and acquired North American rights to the film that Meagan says, “dissolves reality with simplistic mystery.” Read her review here.
In the previously released clip from the film, Andrea Riseborough (Mandy, The Grudge, Possessor) appears as a bereaved mother who, after new neighbors move in, events unfold and she starts to question her reality. In this eerie piece of footage, Riseborough appears to be hallucinating and/or haunted by her deceased daughter.
“When a new family moves in next door, their young daughter, Megan, quickly captivates Laura, stirring up painful memories of her own daughter who died several years previously. Before long, Laura’s memories turn to obsession as Megan’s unsettling behaviour begins to convince her of something supernatural. As Laura’s determination to get to the bottom of it becomes all-consuming, her family begins to fracture and the line between the extraordinary and the real becomes ever more obscured in this haunting story about a mother’s love.”
Jonjo O’Neill (“The Fall”), Martin McCann (“Calibre”), and Eileen O’Higgins (“Brooklyn”) also star.
