One of the films announced this morning – alongside our V/H/S/99! – for this year’s Midnight Madness slate at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) that we wanted to put a solo spotlight on is a horror movie titled Sick, which notably brings Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer writer Kevin Williamson back into the slasher movie arena!
John Hyams (Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, “Black Summer”) directed Sick from a story by Williamson, and it’s being described as a “lean, mean, and wickedly timely slasher.”
Here’s the plot synopsis found on the film’s IMDb page…
“Due to the pandemic, Parker and her best friend decide to quarantine at the family lake house alone – or so they think.”
IMDb also lists Katelyn Crabb as the writer, with Williamson getting story credit.
While we wait for more information, you can check out a first-look image from Sick up above, which was debuted along with today’s Toronto International Film Festival announcement.
The official TIFF website lists Sick as running 83 minutes long, hitting that slasher sweet spot!
TIFF 2022 runs from September 8-18, 2022.
