So with the presentation Konami unleashed announcing the resurrection of the Silent Hill franchise, there was a conspicuous absence from the presentation in Silent Hill: The Short Message. The game wasn’t mentioned at all during Konami’s presentation, despite having been rated in Korea back in September. But now, it appears that the game has been rated in Taiwan.
Spotted by Gematsu, the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee has rated Silent Hill: The Short Message for PlayStation 5. On top of that, a few details can be gleaned from The Short Message from its entry on the website, including the game’s synopsis and official artwork.
The game’s translated synopsis reads: “Anita came to an abandoned apartment to meet her friend Maya, and somehow woke up to find herself trapped in it. She must escape her own fears and the monsters lurking in the corridors, discover the truth behind the events she is trapped in, and try to escape before her own trauma consumes her will to survive.”
This seems in line with the images that were leaked from Silent Hill: Sakura, which has a leaked screenshot that’s very similar to the official artwork for The Short Message. Hopefully we’ll hear more about this in the coming months, along with the other Silent Hill titles that were announced back in October, including the upcoming Bloober Team-developed Silent Hill 2 remake.
