A brand new horror convention on the scene, the first-ever “Silver Scream Con” is set to debut this weekend (August 26th–August 28th) just north of Boston, Massachusetts.
The inaugural “Silver Scream Con”, curated by Spencer Charnas, front man of the band Ice Nine Kills, brings together horror celebrities Skeet Ulrich (Scream, The Craft), Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th VII, Jason X, Hatchet), Doug Bradley (Hellraiser), Nick Castle (Halloween), Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Danielle Harris (Halloween 4 & 5, Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Tom Arnold (Freddy’s Dead, Roseanne), Ari Lehman (Friday the 13th), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), and more for a three-day convention along with a Saturday night concert — headlined by Ice Nine Kills and featuring horror-rap duo Twiztid and Ari Lehman’s metal band First Jason.
Some of the scheduled panels throughout the weekend include…
• An Ice Nine Kills Interrogation Spencer Charnas, Ricky Armellino, Joe Occhiuti, Dan Sugarman and Patrick Galante of Ice Nine Kills submit to a deep interrogation, turning the knife and peeling back the layers to reveal how their love affair with horror began.
• Jason Voorhees in Stereo – Kane Hodder, who played iconic slasher Jason Voorhees in four legendary Friday the 13th films, takes the stage with Ari Lehman, the original Jason from the original 1980 masterpiece. The pair will talk about their careers (including Kane’s work as Leatherface and Ari’s collaboration with Ice Nine Kills) and, of course, the Friday the 13th franchise.
• Your Number’s Up – Skeet Ulrich discusses his career, including his work on Scream, The Craft, Jericho, Law & Order: LA, and Riverdale.
• Revengers, Disassemble! Bill Moseley, Ricky Dean Logan, Miko Hughs, Spencer Charnas and Andrew Smith discuss INK’s “Welcome to Horrorwood” cinematic companions.
• Heroines of Horror – Danielle Harris and Felissa Rose on stage together and share some of their Scream Queen and Final Girl experiences, reinventing tropes and smashing stereotypes.
• Raising Hell with Pinhead – A Q&A with the legendary English actor Doug Bradley, a frequent collaborator with Clive Barker and Cradle of Filth.
The convention itself kicks off Friday, August 26th and runs through Sunday, August 28th at the DoubleTree Boston North Shore Hotel in Danvers, Mass. The long-sold out concert hits Beverly’s intimate Cabot Theater on Saturday, August 27th.
While the concert may be sold out, fans can still attend the three-day convention — with ticket prices ranging from $30 for single day entry to $70 for weekend passes.
