Back in 2021, Saber Interactive announced that they were working on a “single-player, story-driven horror adventure game” inspired by John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place. Now, Saber Interactive and developer Stormind have pulled back the curtain on A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, coming later this year to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a new story in the A Quiet Place universe, and is designed “for fans of the films, horror games, and story-driven adventures alike.”
The story centers on a young woman struggling to endure not only the nightmarish alien creatures that have invaded earth, but also the anguish of interpersonal family conflicts and her own inner fears. With nothing more than your wits and the simple tools you can scavenge, you’ll have to overcome the many treacherous challenges and obstacles that lay ahead, all while trying to survive an ever-present threat of the unknown enemies.
As one might expect, sound plays an important part in the gameplay. You’ll need to hide, distract, and sneak past the creatures, all the while exercising caution to not make any noise. Players will need to use their wits and ingenuity to observe each environment, leverage whatever tools they can find, and overcome danger.
More info regarding A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, including its release date, is expected soon. In the meantime, players can check out the game’s official site for more info.
Meanwhile, the third entry in the film series, a prequel spinoff movie titled A Quiet Place: Day One and directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig), heads into theatres on June 28.
