Developer Endnight Games has delayed their upcoming Survival Horror game Sons of the Forest into next year. Previously delayed to October 2022, Sons of the Forest will now be released on February 23, 2023 for PC via Steam for $29.99 USD. No mention was made of the previously-announced PlayStation 4 version.
On Twitter, Endnight explained that due to the scope of Sons of the Forest, it’s been difficult for the team to nail down an exact release date. As a result, the team has decided to delay Sons of the Forest “one last time” to February 2023.
Sons of the Forest’s story sees you trapped on a cannibal-infested island after being sent to find a missing billionaire. As in the previous game, you’ll be relying heavily on survival skills, alone or with friends, to survive. Survival is the name of the game, as is the interaction. You’ll be breaking sticks to make fires, and using an axe to cut out windows and floors.
The world of Suns of the Forest is hostile, where nowhere is safe. You will have to fight against a range of mutated creatures, some who are almost human like, while others are like “nothing you have ever seen before”. Armed with pistols, axes, stun batons and more, protect yourself and those you care for.
Hey Everyone,
Due to the scope of our new game Sons Of The Forest, it has been hard to pinpoint an exact release date, and today we have to delay one last time.
Giving us time to complete the polish we feel is needed, we will release Feb 23, 2023, priced at $29.99USD. pic.twitter.com/9SmeLelmj6
