In spite of the trailer released last November announcing the release date, developer Endnight Games has made the decision to delay Sons of The Forest. Originally scheduled for release on May 20th of this year, the game will instead be pushed back to October 2022.
Endnight took to Twitter with the announcement, saying that the May 2022 release date for Sons of The Forest was “overly ambitious”. While the developers didn’t outright state the reasoning for the delay, the statement alludes to the team’s vision for Sons of The Forest being behind the decision.
Nevertheless, the team did think to put in a brief five-second clip of the game in action. Along with the trailer back in November, this is really all we’ve seen of Sons of The Forest so far (though this is probably on purpose).
Currently, Sons of The Forest is in development for PC and the PlayStation 4.
Hey Everyone,
Over these past few weeks, we have realized that our May 2022 release date for Sons Of The Forest was overly ambitious. To be able to deliver our vision of the next step in survival games, we’ve decided to move our release date to October 2022
