With Summer Game Fest winding down, The Chinese Room and publisher Secret Mode have released the launch trailer Still Wakes the Deep, just ahead of its launch. The new trailer gives a taste of what awaits main character Cameron “Caz” McLeary (voiced by Alec Newman), as well as Caz’s dictatorial boss Rennick.
The trailer also gives fans a glimpse of the disasters that will hit the Beira D, and see hints of the unknowable horror chasing down the rig’s crew in Still Wakes the Deep.
Taking place in 1975, disaster has struck the Beira D oil rig off the coast of Scotland. Caz McLeary is one of the oil rig workers on the Beira D rig, fighting for his life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters. All lines of communication have been severed. All exits are gone. And something has snuck on board, leaving you to not only restore function to the rig, but also deal with the unknowable horror.
Still Wakes the Deep launches June 18 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam. It will also be available with Game Pass for console and PC. A PlayStation 5 physical version will also be available, with pre-orders available now.
