Revealed last month, Strange Scaffold and newly-formed indie fund Outersloth’s bizarre story-driven title Clickolding is out now on Steam with a limited-time 10% discount until July 30. The one-sitting storytelling title also has a bite-sized launch trailer that’s equally as bizarre as the game itself.
Clickolding takes place in a hotel room, tasking players with thumbing a tally counter at the whims of the potentially dangerous masked host in the corner of their room. If you leave, you don’t get the money, and you can’t come back. If you stay, you’ll unravel a distressing story, one click at a time.
Witness a thoughtfully uncomfortable and shifting atmosphere come to life in the noir-tinged environment. Clicking, solving environmental conversation puzzles, and navigating a tenuous and uncertain relationship are the subtle ingredients that make Clickolding more than just a suggestive pun. It’s all accompanied by a weird jazz soundtrack from award-winning composer RJ Lake (Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator, Unbeatable).
