“Stranger Things” is finally headed back into our lives in just a couple months. “Stranger Things 4” comes to Netflix on May 27 with “Volume One” of the brand new season.
Vol. 2 of “Stranger Things 4” will then arrive on Netflix on July 1, 2022.
Netflix’s official website has shared a gallery of first-look photos from “Stranger Things 4” today, which picks up six months after the events of the previous season.
“When we pitched it to Netflix all those years ago, we pitched it as the kids are…The Goonies in E.T.,” Ross Duffer explains. “That’s their storyline. And the adults are in Jaws and Close Encounters and then the teens are in Nightmare on Elm Street or Halloween. But, this year, we don’t have the kids. We can’t do The Goonies anymore. And so, suddenly, we’re leaning much harder into that horror movie territory that we love. It was fun to make that change.”

The good news here? “Stranger Things 4” is essentially going to be a massive double season, so we’re actually in store for more brand new episodes than it may seem like we have left. “Stranger Things 4” is said to be “twice the length” of previous seasons, so it isn’t just one season broken up into two parts. Essentially, we’re getting almost two full seasons in one!
“Stranger Things 5,” we recently learned, will then be the show’s final season.
What we know of Season 4 thus far is that Hopper is still alive, “imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other.”
“Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything….”
“Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more,” the Duffer Brothers had said back in February of last year.
Horror icon Robert Englund is playing Victor Creel in Season 4, a disturbed man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s.
