Xbox fans feeling that they missed out on Annapurna Interactive and BlueTwelve Studio’s Stray appear to be in luck. The ESRB has rated the dystopian cat adventure for the Xbox Series and Xbox One. No release date has been announced as of yet.
Stray is set in a future where humans have presumably gone extinct, and what remains of society is run by machines. Oh yes, and cats are still around. One such cat is the game’s protagonist, which has become separated from its family, and is trying to find a way out of the city. Along the way, you’ll be untangling an “ancient mystery”.
Eventually, the cat meets up with and befriends a small flying drone called B12. B12 will assist the player in solving the puzzles you’ll come across on your journey. Players will also defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this decaying cybercity inhabited by nothing but unassuming droids and dangerous creatures.
Stray was released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam back in July of last year. There was also a physical edition for the PlayStation version from iam8bit, alongside a copy of the game’s soundtrack on vinyl. Fingers crossed that the Xbox version of Stray would get a similar physical release.
