Huge news out of the Cannes market with the next Terrifier officially being announced by The Coven, which is once again teaming up with the franchise’s filmmakers to handle worldwide sales on Terrifier 3. Deadline first reported the news this afternoon.
Director Damien Leone and producer Phil Falcone will return to oversee the continuation of the franchise. Deadline notes, “Plot is being kept under wraps but David Howard Thornton (Art The Clown) and Lauren LaVera (Sienna) are among cast expected to return.”
“Filming is expected to get underway in November or December of this year for release in late 2024.”
“Terrifier 3 will be another boundary-pushing addition to the horror genre, continuing the no holds barred, uncompromising exploits fans of the franchise have come to expect and celebrate,” Damien Leone hypes.
“If you thought Art the Clown’s reign of terror in Part 2 was extreme, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
Adds Priscilla Ross Smith, founder of The Coven: “There will be a much bigger budget this time around, which is intended to give the filmmakers more creative freedom, and let them be as wild as they can be. And, all jokes aside, we are going for that Oscar this year.”
Worldwide sales immediately commenced.
Known for extreme gore and special effects, the SCREAMBOX Original Terrifier 2 gained national attention when people were seen passing out and throwing up in audiences. It was featured on Howard Stern and notably, The New York Times in 2022, and pulled in over $15M worldwide at the box office.
