“The Boys” are back in town! Season three of “The Boys” kicks off its eight-episode run TODAY, June 3, with the first three available to stream now on Prime Video. They’ll be followed by one additional episode each subsequent Friday, ending with the season finale on Friday, July 8.
“The Boys” (based on the best-selling comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson) puts a bold, fresh and bloody new spin on the superhero genre, centered on a group of vigilantes who set out to take down corrupt superheroes. The series hails from a team including showrunner Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg. Season three continues the series’ streak of raucous, cynical superhero mayhem with a darker turn and fresh faces (our review).
Ahead of the premiere, Bloody Disgusting chatted with Kripke about how he implements gore in season three, leading to a discussion about his gore mission statement and the lesson that “Supernatural” taught him in predicting how many seasons his shows would have. Kripke also explains how “The Boys” is his version of creating a Muppet movie.
With “Supernatural” alum Jensen Ackles playing a significant role in “The Boys” third season, Kripke also revealed that he’s in talks with Jeffrey Dean Morgan to potentially appear in an upcoming season after a recent tweet by the actor.

In the third season…
“It’s been a year of calm. Homelander’s subdued. Butcher works for the government, supervised by Hughie of all people. But both men itch to turn this peace and quiet into blood and bone. So when The Boys learn of a mysterious Anti-Supe weapon, it sends them crashing into the Seven, starting a war, and chasing the legend of the first Superhero: Soldier Boy.”
Season Three of The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, and Claudia Doumit.
