The Conjuring Universe is expanding beyond the big screen, with Warner Bros. Discovery today announcing that a television series is in the works for the Max streaming service.
“Peter Safran is developing a drama series based on New Line Cinema’s film franchise with Warner Bros. Television,” Deadline reports this afteroon.
The series is set to “continue the story established in the feature films.”
James Wan’s Atomic Monster Productions and Peter Safran’s The Safran Company will produce the franchise’s very first small screen project, in association with WBTV.
There are currently seven films in The Conjuring universe — The Conjuring, Annabelle, The Conjuring 2, Annabelle: Creation, The Nun, Annabelle Comes Home, and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. The eighth film, The Nun 2, is coming later this year.
