In the wake of four movies, the John Wick Universe is set to expand with prequel series “The Continental,” and the upcoming Peacock Original Series gets a full official trailer today.
The three-part event premieres September 22, 2023, followed by Night 2 airing September 29 and Night 3 airing October 6. Check in with the official trailer below.
“The Continental” is prequel to the blockbuster franchise that explores the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe.
Peacock previews, “The three-part event series will explore the origin behind the hotel through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott (Colin Woodell) as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind.
“Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.”
Ayomide Adegun will portray a young Charon, Peter Greene plays Uncle Charlie, Mel Gibson is Cormac, Ben Robson is Frankie, Hubert Point-Du Jour is Miles, Jessica Allain is Lou, Mishel Prada is KD, and Nhung Kate is Yen. Keanu Reeves is not featured in the spinoff series.
Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward serve as writers and showrunners.
Albert Hughes is directing and executive producing the series.
A spinoff movie titled Ballerina is also coming soon.
