One of our favorite horror films of 2021 was the claustrophobic and haunting aquatic horror, The Deep House, which hails from French filmmaking duo Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, best known for their ultra-violent Inside, Livide, and Leatherface.
After an EPIX premiere and subsequential release on PVOD, the haunting chiller is now streaming on Paramount+, Bloody Disgusting learned.
The Deep House is shot almost entirely underwater and follows an influencer couple (James Jagger and Camille Rowe) who go diving in a remote French lake only to discover a fully submerged haunted house.
Meagan Navarro called it “an eerie and technically ambitious aquatic nightmare” in her review.
“At the bottom of this lake… there’s a perfectly preserved house.”
“Deep below the surface of a seemingly tranquil remote lake lies a perfectly preserved family home. When a young influencer couple sets out to explore the submerged house to capture uncharted content for their social media followers, their dive turns into a nightmare as they discover a sinister presence. With limited oxygen supply and time running against them, the couple must find a way to escape the underwater house of horrors before it’s too late.”
