Good things come to those who wait. And for PlayStation 5 users, you’ll finally be able to get your hands on Forever Entertainment’s House of the Dead: Remake later this month. Forever Entertainment and publisher Microids have announced that their remake of the Sega arcade classic will be arriving on the PlayStation 5 on January 20, with “adjusted” performance and graphics.
Previously, PlayStation 4 users received their version last April, with the physical Limidead Edition coming last month. No word on if the enhanced port will be a free upgrade for existing PlayStation 4 users. Complicating matters is the fact that the PS4 version is enjoying a 50% off discount on the PS Store until January 19th.
The House of the Dead: Remake was originally released on the Nintendo Switch digitally April 7 of last year, the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam all receiving versions on a few weeks later, and the Xbox Series last September.
Forever Entertainment had mentioned at the time that along with a remake of The House of the Dead, the game’s sequel would also be getting the remake treatment. Hopefully we’ll have an answer later this year as to when The House of the Dead 2 will be heading our way.
