Independent filmmaker Patrick Rea (They Wait In The Dark, I Am Lisa, Arbor Demon, Nailbiter) has let Bloody Disgusting know this week that post-production is nearing completion for his next movie, a found footage-style LGBTQ vampire feature titled The Night Is Young.
While you wait for more, check out several first look images below.
The film tells the story of Nora (Sarah McGuire), an influencer, who along with her brother Jake (Jake Jackson) are filming her failed dates for a video blog. Through a turn of events, she ends up on a date with Emilia (Valeri Bates), a female vampire.
Soon they find themselves in the crosshairs of a group of murderous vampire hunters (Kristin Rea, Kurt Hanover and Dan Daly).
Rea tells us, “I think we’ve made a fun and original found-footage feature that we hope pleases fans of the sub-genre. We are planning for a festival premiere possibly in the late summer.”
Filming took place over several months in Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas. The film is directed by Patrick Rea, who also co-wrote the film with Sarah McGuire (They Wait In The Dark). Rea, Jake Jackson, Sarah McGuire, Ben Benefield and Curt Coolidge produced.
