‘Twas so nice they’ve done it twice. After giving Resident Evil actors Charlie Kraslavsky, Greg Smith and Eric Pirius (who played Chris Redfield, Barry Burton and Albert Wesker, respectively) a chance to play the PlayStation classic that made them a favourite for many RE fans, Residence of Evil has taken the opportunity again to sit the actors down to play the game again. Only this time, they’ve brought along Rebecca Chambers’ actress Linda to give it a go with Resident Evil: Director’s Cut.
Hosted by Residence of Evil founder JJ Trulock to give Linda a helping hand with this video game stuff, the group shares their thoughts and memories of the game, with the cutscene being the obvious one. Linda actually hadn’t seen the opening cutscene before, but remembers “bits and pieces” of the shoot. With regards to her “role call” in the cutscene, Linda does remember that part, though admittedly was confused why they asked her to smile for the shot.
Much like for many players of the day (and even today), the tank controls were a topic that took some getting used to for Linda. But really, that’s all part of the fun in something like this. “You’ve got to be a master of all things in coordination,” says Linda.
The quartet of actors will be reprising their roles for a four-part fan-made web series, which will be directed by Andrew Saullo (who also directed the fan-made short The Keeper’s Diary). For copyright reasons, it will not be an official Resident Evil series. Crowdfunding for the project is expected to be launching “soon”.
