Vertical Reach’s throwback psychological horror game The Tartarus Key will be getting a physical release for the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Released digitally for PC and consoles back in May, the game will now see physical releases in limited quantity on October 12, courtesy of Super Rare Games.
The ‘limited quantity’ is no joke, as a total of 4,000 Switch copies and 1,000 PS4 copies will be printed. The orders go live at 6pm BST (10am PDT/1pm EDT).
In addition to the game being on physical media, there will be bonuses for buying the game. The Tartarus Key Switch physical release comes with the game on a physical cartridge, a full-colour manual, an exclusive sticker, and trading cards. The PlayStation 4 release comes with the game printed on the disc, a full-colour manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker, and a slipcover.
Inspired by “the classics of the genre”, The Tartarus Key is a first-person narrative thriller centered on a woman named Alex. The last thing Alex remembers is being alone in her apartment. Suddenly, she’s awoken in a mysterious mansion, with a stranger’s voice crackling through a walkie-talkie and cameras following her every move. When Alex realizes she’s not the only one caught up in this nightmare, she sets off to discover who—or what—is lurking in the shadows.
In addition to the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, you can also snag The Tartarus Key digitally on the Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
