Over four million players have sliced, diced and attempted to survive in Gun Interactive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game in the past month, and while the team has been actively putting together fixes and patches at a steady clip these last several weeks, Bloody Disgusting is excited to let you know today that the very first content update is coming soon.
Revealed by both GameSpot and Bloody Disgusting in a joint exclusive this afternoon, legendary makeup effects artist Greg Nicotero (Day of the Dead, “The Walking Dead”) has joined the team to create a brand new, never-before-seen Leatherface skin for the game!
GameSpot debuted a reveal teaser featuring a fresh kill that you can check out over on their website, while we’ve got an in-depth featurette that explores the brand new Leatherface skin.
In the 8-minute video, Greg Nicotero and Gun’s Wes Keltner discuss how they created the new look together. Again, this is a brand new look never seen in the Chainsaw movies!
Keltner explains to Bloody Disgusting, “This is a new skin. Meaning this Leatherface doesn’t have different abilities. It’s the same as the Pretty Woman or Old Lady skins for the base LF. However, we did give this LF a new saw with new recordings. It’s a deeper, growling saw that can be heard and identified immediately before you even see LF.”
Nicotero preview his fresh new mask design, “It’s not as traditional as a lot of the other masks. It wasn’t a single face that was cut out, but it was multiple bits. I liked the idea of using a mouth as one of the eye holes.” He continues, “It was a different experience for me to take a character that not only a lot of people know, but sort of evolving it.”
“Nicotero Leatherface” will be available for $15.99 this October, and the DLC pack includes the new mask & outfit skin, a brand new signature kill, and exclusive saw with custom sound.
