Scott Hansen’s The Virginia Bitches, featuring a cast of heavy metal rock stars, is performing at the forthcoming Cannes market, reports ScreenDaily.
The film follows a female vampire death metal band trapped in a town of cannibals led by a warlock.
Randy Blythe of US heavy metal band Lamb of God and Alissa White-Gluz of Swedish death metal band Arch Enemy have signed to star.
Underoath keyboard player Chris Dudley is pulling double duty as producer and composer, while Maylene and the Sons of Disaster vocalist Dallas Taylor will also star and serves as executive producer.
Other metal musicians set to appear on screen include Cristian Machado from Lions at the Gate, Heidi Shepherd from Butcher Babies, Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon, and Scott Ian Lewis from Carnifex.
Desiree Connell penned the screenplay. Raven Banner has boarded worldwide sales rights to the film ahead of a summer shoot in Georgia.
