Those keen on flexing their teamwork (and betrayal) skills with Other Ocean Interactive’s The Walking Dead: Betrayal won’t have to wait very long to do so. After the reveal back in July, publisher Skybound Games has announced that this unique takeoff of Project Winter will enter into Steam Early Access on September 14 with a $19.99 USD price tag.
As a bonus, those who purchase The Walking Dead: Betrayal during this Early Access period will receive the Rick Grimes skin for free. And if you prefer to see the game in action before you buy, The Walking Dead: Betrayal will also host a free weekend on Steam starting at 10 AM PT on September 14 and ending at 10 AM PT on September 18.
To prep you for the game (and just in case you’ve never played Other Ocean’s Project Winter before), the team recently released a “Tips and Tricks” video to get you acquainted with the game and its mechanics.
In The Walking Dead: Betrayal, a group of players must work together to complete objectives and escape the hordes of walkers that stalk them. However, it’s not all teamwork, as there are incognito ‘traitors’ amongst the group, plotting to do everything in their power to delay repairs, and prevent anyone from leaving. These traitors will work to sabotage and sow paranoia among the group, ultimately threatening to tear the survivors apart as they desperately work towards escaping.
