Streaming services have a knack for just quietly dumping new content without any promotion. Netflix has done this last week with The Wasteland, a brand new Spanish horror from director David Casademunt.
Incredibly under the radar, IMDb doesn’t even show the film as completed and yet it’s here, right now, on Netflix. However, it did premiere at last year’s Sitges to mixed reviews.
The film follows a 19th-century family living in seclusion who is visited by an evil being that feeds on fear. Can little Diego save his mother from the beast — and herself?
It stars Stephanie Bursill and Charleen Williams.
