“I’m on vacation.”
The Losers’ Club sure isn’t, though. Today, the gang is heading to the J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington, DC to help the FBI solve a strange case file that was sent to them from the Derry Private Library in Maine. It’s an X-File dated February 8, 1998 and there’s a single word at the top: “Chinga”. Rest assured, the truth is out there … somewhere.
Join Special Agents Michael Roffman, Justin Gerber, McKenzie Gerber, and Sammie Kuykendall as they attempt to solve this bizarre case. Together, they explain how best-selling author Stephen King got involved (and how his script was reworked by the writers’ room), decipher the Kingian influences within, and reminisce on how they all first found The X-Files.
(It should be noted that this discussion was recorded in October 2021 for their Patreon, The Barrens, and that it’s being unlocked today for the episode’s 25th anniversary. Speaking of which, in further celebration, the Losers’ Discord channel is hosting a watch-a-long tonight at 8:30 p.m. EST/5:30 p.m. PST. Become a member today and join ’em tonight.)
Stream the conversation below and then return next week when the Losers speak to Laramie Dean about queerness in King’s Dominion. For further adventures, join the Club over long days and pleasant nights via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, RadioPublic, Acast, Google Podcasts, and RSS. And, again, you can also unlock hundreds of hours of content in The Barrens (Patreon).
