Hope you’re hungry because this episode is all about hearty meals and tasty treats. For decades now, Stephen King has been whetting the appetites of Constant Readers around the world with all kinds of cuisines from King’s Dominion. Whether it’s a stack of flapjacks at the Tozier’s in Derry or Matt Burke’s bolognese in ‘Salem’s Lot, our eyes are oft-eatin’ nasty.
Author Theresa Carle-Sanders is hip to this, which is why she’s put together the first real Stephen King cook book. It’s called Castle Rock Kitchen: Wicked Good Recipes from the World of Stephen King, and hits the street on October 4th. In anticipation, Carle-Sanders invited the Losers over for dinner. What was on the menu? Good ol’ fashioned chatter.
Join Carle-Sanders and Losers’ Club co-hosts Michael Roffman and Jenn Adams as they discuss the origins of the cookbook, the research that went into each recipe, the ways she leaned on King’s characters to conceptualize the collection, the artwork and photography that brought it to life, and how King got involved to write a foreword. Bon appetit!
Stream the full discussion below and stay tuned next week when the Losers review the latest King adaptation: John Lee Hancock’s Mr. Harrigan’s Phone and speak to star Jaeden Martell.
