We’re all itching to see just what THQ Nordic and developer Pieces Interactive have cooked up for their upcoming remake of Alone in the Dark. And we won’t have to wait for Summer Game Fest to see it, as THQ Nordic will be hosting the Alone in the Dark Spotlight event this Thursday!
Designed to “unveil answers to some of the most pressing questions surrounding the game”, the showcase will feature new insights on the game, alongside some “unexpected revelations”. The whole thing kicks off May 25 at 5:00 pm PT / 8:00 pm ET, and can be watched THQ Nordic’s YouTube and Twitch pages.
A love letter to the ground-breaking original, Alone in the Dark lets you experience a haunting story through the eyes of one of the two protagonists: play as either Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood in this re-imagination of the classic survival horror game where Psychological Horror meets Southern Gothic. Explore your environments, fight monsters, solve puzzles, and uncover the uneasy truth of Derceto Manor.
Deep in the 1920s south, Emily Hartwood’s uncle has gone missing. Together with private investigator Edward Carnby, she embarks on a journey to Derceto Manor, a home for the mentally ill where something is lurking. You’ll encounter strange residents, nightmarish realms, dangerous monsters, and ultimately uncover the plot of rising evil. At the intersection of reality, mystery, and insanity, an adventure awaits that will change your core beliefs. Who can you trust, what will you believe, and what will you do next?
Alone in the Dark is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
