Blazing Bit Games has been going a little old-school with the new in their retro-inspired FPS looter shooter Nightmare Reaper. Currently in Early Access on Steam, the game is expected to leave Early Access on March 28 with the addition of the third chapter.
The fully-launched Nightmare Reaper will include more weapons, new game modes, lots of loot, and more of the nightmare-ridden storyline.
Speaking of the storyline, Nightmare Reaper puts you in the depths of a nightmare of your own making. In order to find your way out, you’ll have to use an arsenal of powerful weapons to blow away demons, while also improving your abilities along the way.
Inspired by the classic 2.5D first person shooters of the 90s, with elements of modern looter shooters and rogue-lites, the game will have you using gold you find to purchase character upgrades and new abilities via minigames. As well, you’ll be making use of 80 unique weapons that can drop as loot and can contain a mix of over 30 enchantment types.
Topping it all off is a score by Andrew Hulshult, who these days needs no introduction for fans of FPS games.
Nightmare Reaper is currently available on Steam and GOG for $24.99, and will have a launch sale of 15% off from March 28th until April 4th on both platforms.
