Sargent House revealed on their IG that the feature film score for Ti West‘s highly-anticipated X has been scored by none other than Tyler Bates, who also collaborated with Chelsea Wolfe on the project!
More details will be forthcoming, but Wolfe is coming off the release of Bloodmoon: I, a celebrated collaboration with Converge that topped many site’s albums of the year lists. Bates, of course, is a titan in the music industry and scored everything from John Wick to Halloween and even Dawn of the Dead.
This isn’t the first time Bates has collaborated with West as he composed the score to the filmmaker’s 2013 The Sacrament.
As for Ti West’s X, A24 is releasing the film in theaters on March 18th.
Looking like a mix between Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Boogie Nights, the film takes place in 1979 where a group of young filmmakers set out to make an adult film in rural Texas, but when their reclusive, elderly hosts catch them in the act, the cast soon find themselves in a desperate fight for their lives.
