The “Alien” franchise is headed to the small screen for the first time with a new series from FX and Noah Hawley (“Fargo”), and Timothy Olyphant (“Fargo”) has joined the cast.
Deadline first reported the news this afternoon.
The site notes, “Details about Olyphant’s character are not being disclosed. I hear he plays Kirsh, a synth who acts as a mentor and trainer for Sydney Chandler’s Wendy who is a hybrid, a meta-human who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult.”
FX’s “Alien” series is expected sometime in 2025.
Essie Davis (The Babadook), Alex Lawther (The End of the F*cking World), Samuel Blenkin (“Black Mirror”), and Adarsh Gourav (The White Tiger) will also star.
Creator Noah Hawley‘s take on the Alien franchise has been described as both an “extension and reinvention” of the films that have come before it, with Ellen Ripley not involved.
FX originally noted, “Expect a scary thrill ride set not too far in the future here on Earth.”
Last we heard, Ridley Scott is expected to be on board as producer.
