Well, that didn’t take long. After taking to Twitter to tease “something” late last week, publisher Devolver Digital and Croteam have announced Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem, which will arrive on Steam on January 25. This new entry is described as a “new standalone chapter” for the franchise.
Co-developed by Timelock Studio, Siberian Mayhem sees Sam and company trekking through Siberia on their mission to catch up with the traitorous General Brand. That involves going in guns-blazing through five new levels set in the Arctic, from coastlines and desolate forests to abandoned villages and a ghost town.
Of course, you’ll be treated to a horde of new enemies that have joined the, uh, Horde. But luckily for Sam, he’s brought some new toys. from the AK to the new experimental ‘Perun’ crossbow. You’ll also have access to several new vehicles to help make your journey that much faster.
And just because you’ve got a mission, doesn’t mean you can’t take on other side quests. Siberian Mayhem will feature more outcasts who offer side missions to unlock new secrets in the world.
No word yet on any console versions.
