Released at the end of September for PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG, Headup Games and developer Bleakmill’s surreal first-person shooter Industria is right up David Lynch’s alley (if he played video games). Headup and Bleakmill have now announced that the shooter will be headed to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in 2022.
Inspired by the FPS games of the 2000s, Industria is set in 1989 on the eve of the fall of the Berlin Wall. You are Nora, a scientist who is searching for her missing friend and lover. Your journey ends up taking you into a parallel dimension to the city of Hakavik, where East Berlin’s brutalist architecture merges with strange technological apparatuses and futuristic robots.
Armed with a basic set of firearms and a melee weapon, you’ll be immerse in a “lovingly designed world full of mystery and lynchesque surreality”. Industria focuses on story first, with the shooter action sequences driving the player through the narrative.
