A second season of Peacock’s video game-based series “Twisted Metal” is on the way, and the streaming service has announced several new additions to the cast this afternoon.
Emmy and SAG Award-nominated actor Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Superman) will join “Twisted Metal” Season 2 as a series regular, for starters. Carrigan will play Calypso, the mysterious, charismatic host and creator of a dangerous demolition derby tournament, who invites all assassins, vigilantes, mercenaries and joyriders to participate. To the winner, he offers the prize of making their greatest wish come true, but with Calypso there’s always a twist…
Richard de Klerk (A Teenage Prophet), Patty Guggenheim (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), and Tiana Okoye (Panhandle) also join Season 2 as recurring guest stars.
Anthony Mackie (“John Doe”), Stephanie Beatriz (“Quiet”) and Joe Seanoa (“Sweet Tooth”) are all back for Season 2, with Will Arnett returning as the voice of “Sweet Tooth.”
“Twisted Metal” is a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) and written by Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai).
The first season is about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he faces the various savage marauders of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
