The 1996 action-adventure blockbuster Twister is getting a big screen sequel from Universal Pictures, and Deadline brings us a fresh batch of casting news this afternoon.
From Universal and Amblin, Twisters will feature Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Maura Tierney (The Affair), Harry Hadden-Paton (Downton Abbey), Sasha Lane (American Honey), Nik Dodani (Atypical), David Corenswet (Pearl), Tunde Adebimpe (Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Katy O’Brian (The Mandalorian).
Previously announced, Daisy Edgar-Jones (Hulu’s Fresh) will lead the cast of Twisters, with the cast also including Brandon Perea (Nope), Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos.
Lee Isaac Chung (Minari) is on board to direct the movie.
Twisters is coming to theaters on July 19, 2024.

The original film centered on Bill and Jo Harding (Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt), advanced storm chasers on the brink of divorce who must join together to create an advanced weather alert system by putting themselves in the cross-hairs of extremely violent tornadoes.
Frank Marshall will produce the sequel to director Jan de Bont’s 1996 movie, which earned two Academy Awards nominations and made a massive $495 million at the box office.
