Announced back in November, Paradox Arc and developer Rocket Flair Studios’ underwater survival game Surviving The Abyss is now out in Early Access on Steam. As an incentive, you can pick up the game with a 10% discount from now until January 24th.
Surviving The Abyss puts you in 1976 during the Cold War. You have been tasked to build and oversee a deep sea research facility with the aim of perfecting (and weaponizing) human cloning. As such, you’ll be having to maintain the facility’s oxygen, power, food supplies, along with keeping your crew alive and sane. Along with discovering and mining resources, you must also explore and expand into the murky depths in order to further your research.
In addition to releasing Surviving The Abyss in Early Access, the devs have provided a handy guide to setting up your base and managing its crew, as well as detailing some of the dangers you’ll be encountering. Namely, you’ll be having to keep what’s known as the Anomaly at bay.
The Anomaly lurks in the darkness of the deep, away from the safety lights of your base. You can detect the Anomaly’s presence via monitoring seismic activity. there will come a point where the Anomaly makes its presence known, requiring you to act fast to save your base. It can’t be defeated, only endured.
