Universal Pictures has announced today that principal photography on Renfield has officially wrapped, the upcoming Dracula spinoff starring Nicolas Cage as Count Dracula.
Renfield comes to theaters on April 14, 2023, which is exactly one year from today. Cage co-stars alongside Nicholas Hoult, who is playing Renfield in the upcoming movie.

Renfield is based on an original pitch from “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman. Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War) is directing the movie, centered on Dracula’s henchman.
The film is said to be a “modern-day adventure story that is comedic in tone.”
“The film centers on Renfield (Hoult), who has grown sick and tired of his centuries as Dracula’s (Cage) lackey. The henchman finds a new lease on life and maybe even redemption when he falls for feisty, perennially angry traffic cop Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina).”
Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Bess Rouss also star.
Nicolas Cage recently teased his Dracula in Renfield, noting that the character’s movements have been inspired by horror films including Ringu and even James Wan’s Malignant!
Ryan Ridley (“Rick and Morty”) wrote the script for Renfield.
