Those of you DREDGE fans waiting on the next DLC for the Lovecraftian fishing game, entitled “The Iron Rig”, will sadly have to wait a little longer for it to arrive. The DLC was set for a Q4 2023 release, but has now been pushed to 2024.
The Black Salt Games team announced the delay for The Iron Rig DLC on the DREDGE Steam page, saying that the original plan was to spend a few months developing the DLC with the hopes of releasing it later this year. Now, the given the time of the year, the developer realizes that they need more time to coordinate with marketing to make the DLC’s launch “as exciting as it could be.”
“We were genuinely disheartened because we knew had made a commitment to all our dedicated players, but we firmly believed there was only one path forward and that was to delay ‘The Iron Rig’ until next year while still delivering an exciting DLC to our players in 2023.”
It’s not all bad news, however. In the same post, the team says that they’ve been “hard at work” creating additional content for DREDGE, with the plan to share more details “soon” regarding its launch and price point. “We understand that this isn’t what we had originally promised but we hope you understand. Your support means the world to us.”
DREDGE is available now digitally on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
