While Stunlock Studios is still working its way through a very successful Early Access launch for V Rising, the developer has now announced that not only will the game be leaving Early Access later this year, but it’ll also be coming to the PlayStation 5. Stunlock made the announcement via PlayStation Blog, though no definitive release date was announced for either the Early Access exit, or the PS5 release.
For those not in the know, V Rising hit Steam Early Access back in 2022, and is an open-world survival game that sees you as a newly-awakened vampire in a world ruled by humans. In your rise to become the next Dracula, you’ll feed on blood to gain new powers, hide from the scorching sun, and engage in real-time PvE and PvP combat set in a dark fantasy realm.
Along the way, you’ll be constructing your castle, pillage villages, skirmish with bandits, and delve into the lairs of supernatural beasts. You also have the ability to invite friends to join as you explore a vast open world. You can also choose to attack other player’s castles, or play the peacemaker in your quest for power.
As mentioned, Stunlock is still working away at updates for the game. They have a rundown over on V Rising‘s Steam page of what the team accomplished this past year, and hinted at what they’ve got cooking for this year leading up to the game’s full release. In addition, if you still haven’t grabbed V Rising, and don’t want to wait for the PlayStation 5 version, you can enjoy a 20% discount on Steam now until February 5th.
