‘Vampire Hunters’ Combines Roguelite Elements With Classic FPS Gameplay, Demo Available Now [Trailer]

With the absence of Castlevania at the moment, Gamecraft Studios is looking to fill that vampire hunting niche with their throwback FPS, Vampire Hunters. Inspired by Poncle’s Vampire Survivors, this shooter incorporates roguelike elements in the form of stackable weapons, which you can experience in a new demo during Steam Next Fest.

There’s not much to the story for Vampire Hunters (at least for the moment). Just kill monsters as your weapons stack to create impossibly awesome builds to mow down increasingly difficult waves of enemies. Test your firepower, die, then try again with the game’s roguelite elements, insane-yet-useful upgrades, and addicting “just one more try” gameplay.

“With Vampire Hunters, we wanted to create an FPS where players are free to try different builds in every run – with high replayability and an engaging gameplay loop similar to Vampire Survivors,” says Tiago Zaidan, CEO and lead producer at Gamecraft Studios. “In this FPS, the player walks straight ahead focusing entirely on building their awesome weapon stack. The corridor-like level design allows the player to focus on what matters: vampire hunting! Besides the weapon-stacking mechanic, the player can further customize their builds with perks, upgrades, constellations, relics and more. Once you put the pieces together, you end up with something quite special – particularly if you’re a retro FPS and/or roguelite fan.”

Vampire Hunters will launch into Early Access on Steam, though no release date has been announced as of yet.
