Telltale Games is back, and so is The Wolf Among Us 2. During the reveal stream, we not only received the new trailer for the game, but also a target release date of 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via the Epic Games Store.
In addition to the trailer, the reveal also dropped more info on the upcoming sequel, courtesy of PlayStation Blog. For starters, half of the current team at the new Telltale Games consists of the previous incarnation. And much like the previous game in the series, Telltale will be going the episodic route, though the game itself will have completed production by the time the first episode is released.
In case you’re unfamiliar with the original The Wolf Among Us, the game is based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comic book series, where fairytales are real, and live in a community in New York City called Fabletown. Players control Bigby Wolf, the sheriff of Fabletown, who must investigate a series of mysterious murders in the community.
As for the story for the sequel itself, the game will take place in New York 1980, six months after the events of the previous game. Players will once again take control of Bigby for a case that spans the normal—mundie—world, and has you making decisions on who you’re going to help.
