‘Violence’ – ’80s “Operatic Punk Rock Thriller” to Star Rohan Campbell & Maddie Hasson

Upcoming indie genre pic Violence, described as an “operatic punk rock thriller,” has found its leads in Halloween EndsRohan Campbell and Malignant‘s Maddie Hasson, Deadline reports today.

Connor Marsden is set to direct the thriller from a script written by Marsden, William Woods, and Devin Myler.

Violence is “set in an alternate 1980s, we find our anti-hero Henry Violence caught in the middle of an intensifying drug war.”

The ’80s set thriller will be scored by NOWHERE2RUN, comprised of members of the two-time Grammy Award-nominated band Code Orange.

“The team breathing life into this film has equaled my decade-long passion in a way I could only dream of,” Marsden said in a statement. “I can’t wait for audiences around the world to meet these characters, brought to life by this remarkable cast.”

No word on who Campbell and Hasson will be playing at this time. While Campbell is most known as ill-fated babysitter Corey Cunningham from Halloween Ends, the actor has also appeared in genre series “Snowpiercer” and “The Hardy Boys.” Hasson’s credits also include the Stephen King-based “Mr. Mercedes” and ’80s-set horror comedy We Summon the Darkness.

The film is produced by Julian Geneen for Grand Touring Productions, William Woods for Woods Entertainment, Albert Shin for Timelapse Pictures, and Maddy Falle for Obvious Allegory. Executive producers include Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity and Insidious franchises) along with Tom Spriggs, Andrew Bronfman, Andrew Webster, Mark Stevens, and Sam Sutcliffe.

Stay tuned for additional details on Violence as they arrive.
