‘Violent Night’ Brings Holiday Fear to New York Comic-Con in October with Premiere Screening

Fresh off yesterday’s poster reveal (below), we’ve learned that Tommy Wirkola‘s (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Dead Snow) new holiday horror movie Violent Night will be shown to the public at New York Comic-Con next month, two months before its release.

Violent Night stars David Harbour (“Stranger Things”) as an ass-kicking Santa Claus, and the Exclusive Screening Event at New York Comic-Con will take place on October 7, 2022.

Universal will then release Violent Night wide in theaters on December 2, 2022.

Violent Night was compared to Die Hard by David Harbour at CinemaCon earlier this year, the film centered on Harbour’s Santa Claus rescuing a family that’s been taken hostage. It’s being described as a violent action-comedy, with John Leguizamo playing the villain!

In the film, “A team of elite mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage. But the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus (Harbour) is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.”

Beverly D’AngeloAlex Haskell and Alexis Louder are also in the upcoming Focus Features movie, starring alongside Edi Patterson and Cam Gigandet.

Pat Casey and Josh Miller (Sonic) wrote the movie.

Kelly McCormick and David Leitch produced for 87North.
