In the wake of the Academy Awards and before the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards ceremony, James A. Janisse and Chelsea Rebecca from the popular YouTube channel Dead Meat have launched the Dead Meat Horror Awards, a brand new virtual awards ceremony that honors the best in horror. The ceremony is now available to stream in full on YouTube!
The categories include Best Stunts or Choreography, Best Digital Effects, Best Practical Effects, Best Kill, Best Supporting Performer, Best Lead Performer, Best Remake or Sequel, and Best Original Movie, with films honored with nominations and/or wins including The Deep House, Halloween Kills, Malignant, Last Night in Soho, The Night House, Psycho Goreman, Fear Street, Candyman, Antlers, Jakob’s Wife, Titane, and Slumber Party Massacre.
Bloody Disgusting’s own V/H/S/94, we’re thrilled to report, was nominated for two Dead Meat Horror Awards, including Best Kill and Best Remake or Sequel. The Shudder Original Movie won Best Remake or Sequel, with Janisse noting that it might be his favorite of the V/H/S films.
