The Jenna Ortega-starring “Wednesday” has been a massive, record-breaking hit for Netflix, so it’s no surprise that “Wednesday” will soon be returning for Season 2. But what can we expect from the next season? According to Ortega, for starters, a bit more horror!
“We just started getting a writers room together,” Ortega told Jimmy Fallon during a “Tonight Show” interview last week. “I think we want to up the horror aspect a little bit.”
Ortega continues, “… and then get Wednesday out of the romantic situation, and just let her be her own individual and fight her own crimes.”
Jenna Ortega stars in the new series as Wednesday Addams, with Luis Guzmán playing Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones playing Morticia in Tim Burton’s Netflix series. Christina Ricci also appears in the show, playing a brand new role, with Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.
“Wednesday” is described as “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.” The series follows…
“Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships.”
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“Smallville”) are the writers and showrunners.
